Working with your business

Planning your offsetting strategy with us means your trees will be planted right here in Britain, so you can actually see the woodlands being established. As a result, you know it's going straight to work against climate change.

  • We encourage the reduction of carbon emissions, and measurable offsetting can play an important part in your company's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy
  • By working with us you're helping to address the fact that Britain has the least woodland cover in Europe
  • All our woodlands are in Britain, so we're subject not only to our own high standards, but to national regulation and legislation
  • We're independently audited - helping to establish trust and transparency
  • We're a leading partner of British national forestry organisations, government departments and key environmental bodies worldwide
  • To safeguard against any woodlands lost before their 60-year maturity milestone, we plant 10% more trees than we make available for carbon offsetting

Independent auditing

Want to know that your commitment to carbon offsetting is working? Before you begin to offset your residual footprint, we encourage you to seek advice from an auditing company such as the Carbon Trust. They're an independent, government-funded organisation that helps businesses and public sector organisations cut their carbon emissions. The Carbon Trust can determine exactly what you need to do to offset your emissions, and we can help neutralise your residual footprint.

Measurable results

At Carbon Forestry we offer you a long-term plan to offset your carbon emissions. We use a valuation model to calculate the carbon soaked up for each individually designed woodland.

Setting the standard

Once your new woodland has been planted, you'll be able to use our kitemark and certificate to show you're committed to helping combat climate change.

The decline of new planting in Britain

In recent years there's been a steep decline in the amount of British woodland, and we're passionate about turning that around. We work not only to offset carbon emissions, but also in partnership with other woodland organisations to fulfil our commitment to protect and restore our British woodlands.

Data taken from the Forestry Commission document: 'Forestry facts and figures 2006'.

This graph shows just how steeply planting has declined in recent years. This is having a negative effect on the environment, both locally and globally.
